OUR PEOPLE
Alfonso sets ˚Orbital's standards for music, sound and client service and ensures that we stay true to them. He also works hands-on guiding our composers and musicians and to deliver exceptional creative results for our agency and artist clients.
A youth spent wandering much of the world and years working in New York City's music and creative scenes lend Alfonso's work international creative context and big city polish.
Before founding ˚Orbital, he worked in creative roles at companies including UK-based Big Sync Music, SiriusXM Radio and The New York Times. He's created works for brands including Chase, Google, Cadillac, Hennessy, with agency partners including BBH, Campbell-Ewald, DDB, Droga5, Leo Burnett, Mullen, Publicis, TBWA and many more.
Alfonso has performed and recorded with some of the music industry's most celebrated artists and he maintains a longstanding musical residency most Sunday nights in New York's West Village.
He speaks, reads and writes Spanish fluently thanks to his Cuban mother and Mexican father and communicates pretty nicely in French, and also Russian, thanks to some pre-teen years living in Moscow, during the fall of the Soviet Union; ask him about it—he’s got stories.
Cultural Attaché. That’s the only title we deemed appropriate for such a seasoned and unique business professional in the creative industries. Dustin is ˚Orbital’s diplomat and a beloved friend and go to, for many in marketing. .
He joins us with over 15 years of management experience and award-winning campaign work.
An expert in marketing, advertising, account management, creative direction, brand strategy, communications, audience engagement, and social media, his work has reached global audiences through his strategic partnerships with marketers, artists and creatives.
Born into a storied and revered family of musicians, he heads up the marketing of ˚Orbital’s unique offering to agency, brand and creative partners, all the while defending and living by the maxim:
“Make The World Cooler.”
Ted was essential to getting ˚Orbital up and running and has been our head of Business Affairs since 2017.
He brought us decades of general and financial management experience — in international trade, manufacturing, private equity and software development — and he’s picked up on a lot of the finer points of the music business remarkably quickly for an old dog—and yes, he wrote this bio himself.
He's managed businesses in 7 countries in the Americas and in China.
Born in Havana, the son of a Cuban mother and an American father, he speaks, reads and writes Spanish fluently, and gets along in Portuguese thanks to years of traveling to Brazil on business.
He's a Blues fanatic and he says he plays guitar badly, but does so “with great feeling.”
CARR BONNER–ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
Carr plays an integral role in the production side of °Orbital. He works to nail down clients’ musical and marketing needs so we can craft music custom-tailored to their projects.
Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, at the ripe age of ten Santa Claus gifted him a drum set and the rest was history. He played in bands through his time in high school and at Berklee College of Music, where he studied music marketing.
Carr works very closely with Alfonso day-to-day and, in addition to client service, assists with music supervision and records drum sets. He would also consider himself the best-dressed at °Orbital.
Colin Bryson–Engineer
As ̊Orbital's resident audio engineer and sound mixer, Colin brings a finely-tuned ear to all stages of music and sound production -- from engineering studio sessions to recording live concerts, mixing and post audio, as well as audio mastering on both analog and digital platforms.
His flair for client service and meticulous attention to detail come in part from his background in hospitality management, having -- in another incarnation -- developed and managed some of New York’s most celebrated restaurants and cocktail lounges
Colin also engineers voice over sessions and remote sessions for ˚Orbital in some of New York’s large ensemble recording rooms when orchestral sessions are needed for scoring.
Chaim Rubenstein–SNDXN + POST
Chaim, working with Alfonso, developed the current configuration of ˚Orbital’s recording studio, located on Christopher Street in New York’s West Village.
The studio has been featured in Tape Op Magazine and over the years has hosted recording sessions by PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Beth Orton, Gogol Bordello, Billy Bragg, among many others. It features a hybrid analog/digital workflow that caters to the modern age’s recall needs without sacrificing the warmth and depth of analog audio.
The studio’s gear includes brands like Trident, Neve, Tannoy, Neumann, SSL, Gibson, Fender, Martin, Taylor, Studer, Burl, Focusrite, Apollo, Yamaha, Auratone, Oram, DBX, Spectrasonics, Electro Harmonix, Ibanez, Ramirez, API, MCI, Shure and AKG, as well as the latest software for recording, mixing and mastering.
